The Critical Mass of Confusion Alan J Simpson has been a leading advocate in Washington, DC of developing sustainable alternative energy sources, as well as calling for better risk management for the many projects being floated for investment. To further this goal ComLinks National Energy Center is being developed as a reliable source for energy intelligence and information on new technologies and industries to address the looming energy crisis. The investment in alternative energy plants has been truly amazing, but often ill advised. The unintended consequences laid out by Alan Simpson over 5 years ago are coming back to "Muddy the waters" , especially with the rush to plant Corn instead of a balanced mix of crops, and the diverting of Corn from the food chain, to fuel gas guzzling SUV's. The United States has no effective Energy Policy, just a string of sound bites about reducing the dependence on foreign oil. Just pumping more and more grants into the wealthy Universities, and Big Oil will not solve the problem for the small business, farmer or general public. There has been promising developments across the entire spectrum of alternative fuel development, but under the glossy surface there is serious issues with profitability and efficiency. The new Snake Oil may be the search for a replacement for Oil. |
